Tim DeChristopher chats live with Ask Umbra
by Grist.
In our first live video chat, recently convicted climate rebel Tim DeChristopher, aka Bidder 70, will take questions from Grist readers just days before his sentencing in federal court. (For those of you unfamiliar with Tim’s unique and audacious act of nonviolent civil disobedience, he posed as a bidder to derail an oil and gas auction that threatened Utah wildlands.) He now faces up to 10 years in prison, but before he heads to the big house, he’s chatting with us about the important role nonviolent protest plays in achieving real change (and his new gig as a Grist contributor.)
Ask Umbra hosts on Wednesday, June 15 at 3 p.m. EDT (noon Pacific) as Tim DeChristopher takes your questions.
