Response Fundraising Manager / PETA Foundation / Oakland, CA

Position Objective:

To propose strategies for and with PETA's approval and oversight and implement and manage PETA's direct-response fundraising efforts in order to generate and maximize net income from PETA members and prospective members in the U.S. and Canada

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• With PETA's approval and oversight, direct and oversee all of PETA's direct-mail and tele-fundraising programs, e-mail and Web solicitations, and other fundraising efforts, such as social media and third-party fundraising efforts

• Develop creative elements and plan and implement segmentation and testing strategies across all channels

• With PETA's approval and oversight, manage PETA's monthly donor pledge program, coordinate all creative elements and strategies in order to increase the number and average gift of monthly PETA donors, and promote upgrade and auto-pay features

• Ensure that all direct-response fundraising campaigns accurately reflect PETA's organizational values and positions and promote activism to accomplish PETA's organizational goals

• Prepare PETA's annual direct-response budgets in collaboration with the development director for PETA's review and approval

• Provide fundraising-program consultation for PETA's international affiliates, facilitating collaboration between entities in order to improve efficiency and lower costs

• Manage relationships with outside vendors

• Identify new technologies, strategies, and channels in order to boost net income for PETA's direct-response programs

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Five years of experience in direct-response fundraising, marketing, or a related field

• Proven excellent project-management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills

• Strong working knowledge of PETA's mission and campaigns

• Demonstrated ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously

• Proven excellent relationship-building skills

• Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail

• Willingness and ability to travel

• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
