Position Objective:
To administer the organization's and PETA's human resources policies, including planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and directing human resources programs and practices

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
•Oversee the Human Resources Department
•In consultation and verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by PETA:
o Take responsibility for labor relations for all staff members of PETA and the organization
o Propose, publish, and administer human resources policies
o Design human resources forms and direct the maintenance of human resources records
o Administer the compensation programs on behalf of PETA and the organization
o Assist in the interviewing of applicants for PETA, and subject to PETA's supervision and approval, conduct hiring negotiations for prospective PETA employees
o Represent the organization and PETA to governmental agencies and at hearings
•Interview applicants and conduct hiring negotiations for the organization
•Stay current on recent federal, state, and case-law changes and monitor labor-law updates for changes that affect human resources
•Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:
•Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
•HRCI SPHR certification
•Minimum of eight years of exempt-level human resources experience
•Minimum of five years of managerial experience in human resources
•Extensive working knowledge of U.S. labor laws and federal and state regulations
•Excellent working knowledge of compensation strategies and programs
•Knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
•Previous public speaking experience
•Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
•Willingness and ability to travel
•Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
•Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
•Commitment to the objectives of the organization

ETA's undercover investigations division (part of the Cruelty Investigations Department) currently has openings for the following:

In just the last few years, PETA investigations have resulted in the following:
 
· The largest seizure of animals (more than 26,000) by law enforcement in history and the shutting down of a massive animal dealer in Texas that was a huge player in the global pet trade
· The closure of a product-testing laboratory in North Carolina and 14 felony cruelty-to-animals charges for four workers, including a supervisor
· Nineteen indictments, including 11 felony charges, against employees of a West Virginia turkey farm—the first-ever felony indictments for cruelty to farmed birds by factory farm workers in the U.S.
· Twenty-two criminal charges against six workers at a sow farm in Iowa, the top pork-producing state, and the first-ever conviction for abusing or neglecting a factory-farmed pig
· A promise from Israel's chief rabbi to label as non-kosher all meat from suppliers in South America obtained by "shackle and hoist," a cruel and archaic slaughter method

Position Objective:
To perform a wide range of clerical and administrative duties for various PETA and PETA Foundation departments

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide prompt and courteous assistance to callers and visitors to the president’s office

• Provide general administrative support

• Prepare correspondence and answer inquiries and requests related to a variety of animal issues and business issues

• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment

• Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision
