Director of Finance & Administration
CEA is seeking a Director of Finance & Administration to lead the team that guides the firm’s financial, operational, and human resource activities in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The Director will work on average 24 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented yet strategic, quick thinking, highly analytical, and experienced in all aspects of financial management. She/he will also be highly experienced in the economics of consulting/professional service firms. The successful candidate will be instrumental in making recommendations to maintain/improve firm profitability, optimize the firm’s capacity, and continuously improve processes and procedures within the administrative team. The Director of Finance & Administration will supervise the work of the Finance & Administrative Associate and the Office Manager and report to CEA’s Managing Principal. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Finance & Administration will perform the following and other duties as assigned:
* Produce and present monthly financial and management reports.
* Generate and maintain company budget and forecasts, and provide a regular review of revenues, costs, capacity utilization, pricing, etc.
* Manage banking functions and relationships (e.g., CEA line of credit, cash management).
* Update, maintain, and ensure compliance with comprehensive written financial and accounting policies (including internal controls) and procedures to safeguard the organization’s fiscal and physical assets and to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis.
* Work with firm principals to optimize profitability.
* Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage client contracts.
* Oversee all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations.
* Provide oversight and general management to the Finance & Administrative Associate and Office Manager.
* Manage all company tax filings and coordinate with outside CPA.
* Provide ad-hoc financial analyses and models (e.g., pricing).
* Manage all human resources functions, with assistance of the Finance & Administrative Associate (e.g., benefits, policies and procedures, employee handbook, on-boarding, payroll).
* Provide general office administration, including but not limited to managing the company’s business insurance policies and lease negotiations.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful applicant will have the following minimum qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience in a financial role with leadership responsibility
* Experience with a client services firm highly desired
* Experience with small businesses highly desired
* Experience with QuickBooks or similar software program
* Experience with Timeslips or similar software program highly desired
* Excellent knowledge of Excel and experience with spreadsheet modeling
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritize under competing deadlines
* Experience in presenting financial reports to management
* A collaborative nature and the ability to lead a team
* Licensed CPA a plus
* Commitment to and enthusiasm for CEA’s mission
Compensation
The expected start date for this position is June 1, 2012. The position will be located in San Francisco, CA. CEA offers competitive pay that is commensurate with experience. This is a part-time position and is not eligible for benefits.
