Purpose of Position:

Manages and coordinates a global progam to support research in the sustainability field, including outreach, grant management and program evaluation. Work is carried out independently under general supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. IIE may add, change, or remove essential and other duties at any time.

Responsible for complying with applicable contract and sponsor requirements and following all IIE policies and procedures

Coordinates program communications to publicize initiative widely and build its visibility and reputation within the sustainability field and the wider community in close cooperation with the sponsor, program partners and an outside communications firm.

Manages partner grants and contracts with supporting organizations.

Coordinates with IIE Communications team on development and implmentation of communications plan.

Assists sponsor to develop and manage web-based content and communications.

Develops and implements a plan to leverage social media tools.

Oversees the evaluation of the program in collaboration with IIE evaluation team to communicate program outcomes and make recommendations for modifications/enhancements to the initiative.

Liaises closely with sponsor to ensure the program goals are being met. Serves as a resource to the sponsor in the sustainability field.

Tracks program finances and provides regular financial and narrative reports to the sponsor.

Performs other duties and functions as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field plus a minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the conservation and sustainability field, particularly related to communications; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Expertise in a field related to the environment and sustainability.

International experience and/or experience working in a cross-cultural setting.

Experience designing and implementing communication plans and managing program evaluations.

Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of the international conservation and sustainability sector.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Ability to manage financial information and prepare budgets and financial reports.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge Microsoft Office 2010; internet software and database software.
