Position Overview:
This position is in the Edison SmartConnectâ„¢ Operations Center within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Customer Service Business Unit (CSBU). The successful candidate provides extensive technical expertise support for the SmartConnect network deployment, on-going operations and major projects associated with network product upgrades. The successful candidate addresses the SmartConnect network infrastructure and communication from the Home Area Network (HAN) interface and meters to the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) head end system.

The successful candidate engages in the following activities:
Monitor the Edison SmartConnectâ„¢ network data through the use of periodic and ad hoc queries to validate interconnectivity and end point functionality/availability, in addition to verifying reliable and efficient operation. Leads a cross-functional group of subject matter experts in the effort of system triage. Assumes end-to-end responsibility for assessing, investigating, facilitating resolution, and closing Edison SmartConnectâ„¢ network related incidents and communicating and then documents corrective actions that were taken.
Assists in the performance of network and end point device diagnostics (e.g., uses data analytics), identifies anomalies, completes trend analyses, and conducts research on the industry best practices. Generates status reports periodically for all stakeholders in order to capture all on-going activities, including capacity and performance data, while informing management about current usage and operational efficiencies. Makes recommendations to enhance network performance based on analysis of data relative to the contractual requirements of the Meter and Communication Systems.
Maintains a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. Works extended days, weekend hours, and on an on-call basis as needed. Recognized internally and externally to the company as an expert in the field of AMI or similar technology operations and analysis. Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have experience managing cross-functional project teams (e.g., vendor, contract, employee, business, and IT resources).
•Possesses a minimum of 7 years of experience in technology project management to include strategic planning.
•Has direct experience leading project teams in the development and implementation of detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
•Experienced in developing short-term and long-term business plans and roadmaps that meet strategic and operational objectives.
•Experienced with large scale technology projects and have systems knowledge, with the application of the project management discipline of systems development lifecycle processes, tools, concepts and methodologies.
•Demonstrated experience facilitating the development of business requirements and data requirements (i.e., requirement elicitation, analysis, documentation, communication, assessment, validation, and approval).
•Experience recommending project scope, budget and timelines based on feasible solutions with input from business stakeholders and solutions team. Has performed business process design or system development needs assessment.
•Experienced in the functionally managing staff, including providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
•Experienced with communicating to all levels of management, including the development and delivery of presentations to senior management.
•Has direct experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project.
•Demonstrated ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
•Must demonstrate the ability to manage risks appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
•Must demonstrate effective decision making, results delivery, and be able to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
•Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
•Demonstrated ability to follow industry safety protocols and safe work practices.

Preferences:
Must have demonstrated knowledge of customer service operations and related systems
