Ecos’ Strategy and Innovation division is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the company’s different product portfolios and developing new business opportunities. We assess new services, analyze market dynamics, report on the competitive landscape, and communicate our thought-leading vision to potential clients. We are focused on analyzing the evolution of energy efficiency and smart grid programs in an effort to determine “what’s next†and how to get there.

Our team is currently seeking a Portfolio Analyst. In this newly created role, you will experience all the benefits of working for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company while having a broad impact on national energy efficiency initiatives.

Role Description
As the Portfolio Analyst you will aggregate and analyze data to provide strategic recommendations on the design of energy efficiency marketing and delivery programs, focusing on moving toward customer-based smart grid opportunities. To accomplish this, you will perform customer database analysis, market potential modeling of energy efficient products, incremental sales analysis for programs, and assessments of program effectiveness. You will improve and maintain our program KPI dashboard and communicate program variances to senior management. And you will develop budget templates for programs with different revenue models and support business development and proposal efforts.

As part of the role you will perform utility program cost-effectiveness calculations and track performance of existing programs, along with identifying performance issues and provide recommendations to senior management. You will aggregate retail sales data from programs to model the baseline and incremental sales attributable to program efforts. You will analyze trends and patterns of customer participation in energy efficiency programs, energy usage, and Energy Star retail purchases to help develop a residential program strategy. And you will determine the market potential for key new technologies by modeling/predicting the adoption pattern and potential market share.

You will become intimately familiar with our program database and will work with IT to improve the data captured and reports generated on program activity. You will assess response rates of program marketing efforts (community and contractor based primarily) and identify strong performing tactics and campaigns. This will enable you to forecast unit projections for energy efficient products delivered through our programs.

Role Competencies
As our ideal candidate you possess a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Market Research, Finance, Engineering, or related field required; a Graduate degree / MBA is strongly preferred. You have demonstrated abilities in econometric modeling, forecasting, product adoption modeling, incremental sales calculation, and customer database analysis. You have a thorough understanding of business analytics, KPI development, and database management, and you are able to take data and convert it into meaningful actionable work. Experience in utility energy efficiency program analysis, market research, database analytics, sales forecasting, and consulting is strongly preferred; demonstrated knowledge and understanding of energy efficiency, smart grid, and demand response, and a passion for making a positive impact on the environment is a must.

You possess a strong business acumen along with superior verbal, written and presentation skills and a keen ability to communicate clearly and concisely. You are a demonstrated consensus builder with the ability to influence senior-level executives. You are a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with a variety of colleagues, matrix relationships, internal clients, senior management, etc. The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment is essential for this role and as a leader at Ecos.
