CCSE seeks a graduate, law school or qualified college-level intern, starting as soon as possible, to assist CCSE’s policy and strategy team with research, analysis and writing related to regulatory and legislative affairs. The ideal candidate will be available to work 25-40 hours per week for a minimum three-month term.
The intern will work closely with CCSE’s policy and strategy team on a variety of regulatory and legislative issues in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and transportation. He or she will have the opportunity to gain considerable expertise in these fields. As part of CCSE’s policy and strategy team, the intern may track relevant energy legislation and regulatory proceedings, engage in research regarding energy policy and current related government activities, contribute to future editions of the Energy Connection Newsletter, as well as contribute to CCSE’s responses to regulatory initiatives. The policy and strategy intern may also attend relevant meetings and events in San Diego and report on these to CCSE staff.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will be knowledgeable in the field of policy analysis; familiarity with energy and/or environmental policy a plus. A positive attitude, the ability to communicate effectively, and strong research, analysis, and writing skills are important and necessary. The ability to work independently is a must.
Requirements: The work requires a self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience in completing research projects and the ability to clearly communicate findings verbally and in writing are necessary. The intern should demonstrate strong attention to detail as well as an ability to carefully and accurately document authoritative sources for all information gathered. The intern should also be able to provide efficient and accurate research for program information and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, as part of a team or independently as needed.
