This position will be in the Storage and Mailing Operations group within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Information Technology & Business Integration (ITBI) Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the Graveyard shift for Mailing Operations.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Planning and executing work assignments in a cost effective and safe manner, including managing day-to-day mailing operations, overseeing workload, providing performance management, resolving business issues, and ensuring alignment with business unit client requirements.
• Preparing reports and providing information utilizing various systems to record project and work costs.
• Providing direction/coaching to staff, including providing day-to-day direction, managing employee performance and career development, conducting employee performance planning and reviews, ensuring adherence to all applicable company policies, and carrying out corrective action as necessary.
• Interpreting, training, and enforcing compliance to corporate safety, illness, and injury policies, rules, and procedures.
• Providing recommendations and implementing action plans to continuously improve mailing operations performance and cost effectiveness.
• Staying abreast of new mailing operation technologies, processes, and practices of similar mailing operations external to SCE.
• Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
• Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATION:

• Must have a minimum of three years of experience supervising a staff of at least ten employees in a fast paced, time-sensitive, high volume production or operations environment with experience in writing and conducting performance appraisals, ensuring staff meet daily production deadlines, and writing professional documentation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• An Associate’s Degree in business or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Typically possesses three or more years of supervisory experience in a high volume production environment.
• Demonstrated experience applying staff management principles and tools (e.g., coaching, career development, conducting performance appraisals, applying corrective action).
• Demonstrated experience supporting process improvement efforts, including analyzing information, reporting results appropriately (e.g., trend charts and graphs), identifying inefficiencies, developing action plans, implementation of improvements, and ensuring proper adherence to policies.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating the work activities of staff, including delegating work assignments in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines, providing functional direction (written and verbally), and reviewing work.
• Demonstrated experience supporting the development of budgets and reporting of information in regards to project and/or work costs, including providing written summaries of information to appropriate stakeholders (e.g., management).
• Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying corporate policies, rules, and procedures, specifically in the areas of corporate safety, illness, and/or injury.
• Demonstrated experience delivering training to staff.
• Demonstrated experience with mail and postal compliance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of applicable mailing operations guidelines and best business practices.
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able and willing to work the Graveyard shift (Tuesday through Saturday morning, 1 a.m. to 10 a.m.); however, providing support to Regular and Holiday shifts may be necessary based on work volume. Shift time may also change.
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a safety conscious work environment.
• Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
• Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
• Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
