Southern California Edison’s San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, near San Clemente, Calif., is Southern California’s largest single source of electricity. The plant generates 2,200 megawatts of power – enough to serve 1.4 million average homes at a point in time. San Onofre workers share several additional points of pride. They serve at a power plant that emits virtually no pollutants or greenhouse gasses. The plant contributes to the region more than $200 million annually in direct economic benefits. Position Overview :
This position will be a Manager in the Security Division within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) San Onofre Nuclear Generation Station (SONGS). The successful candidate will manage the Security Compliance and Self-Assessment groups.
These groups implement security-related regulatory projects caused by ongoing changes in security policies and regulation, manages the security learning programs, including the Corrective Action Program, benchmarking program and assessment program; maintains Division licensing documents, safeguards information program, encryption, and classified information programs; develops and maintains security policies and procedures; acts as the security liaison with the NRA, and security industry groups; and ensure appropriate reporting and licensing document submittals in accordance with division procedures. The successful candidate will also develop, implement and refine Security Defensive Strategy and tactics for the station to meet the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) 10 CFR part 73 requirement and industry best practices. Additionally Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Job Requirements :
•Must have at least five years of experience managing or supervising operations activities at a nuclear power plant.
•Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business or Technical Discipline or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
•Typically possesses seven or more years of experience developing and implanting physical security for a nuclear power plant.
•Demonstrated experience providing direction and making strategic decisions regarding the security plans, contingency plans, and training and qualification plans.
•Demonstrated experience working with contractors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, customers, and other departments.
•Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and refining security strategies and tactics.
•Demonstrated experience evaluating, developing, and implementing contingency and response plans and/or procedures for responding to matters related to plant physical security.
•Demonstrated knowledge of NRC 10 CFR part 73.
•Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•Demonstrated ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
•Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
•Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
•Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
