The Environmental Energy Technologies Division has an opening for a postdoctoral staff member in the Energy Efficiency Standards Group.

Be a part of the team that produces the world's best energy efficiency policy analysis studies. These studies lead to policies that reduce GHG emissions by hundreds of millions of tones per regulation, produce billions of dollars of economic benefits and create thousands of jobs.

Reporting to the Energy Efficiency Standards Group Leader, you will work on the development, application and documentation of economic cost-benefit models for estimating the impacts of appliance and equipment efficiency standards at household, firm, and national scales. This position will emphasize the use of these models and simulation tools to understand, interpret, and evaluate policy options for appliance and equipment efficiency improvement.

Key Success Factors
• Ph.D. in engineering, environmental studies, or physical sciences with experience in independent design, processing and analysis of data.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and work with large amounts of data using various types of software (such as simulation tools, spreadsheets, and database programs) to perform analysis.
• Experience performing economic and engineering analysis.
• Ability to interpret, understand, and evaluate policy options for appliance and equipment efficiency improvement.
• Experience in the analysis of end-use technologies or energy efficiency policies in the residential and commercial buildings sectors.
• Ability to work successfully in an interdisciplinary environment and to collaborate successfully with colleagues and external project partners.
• Excellent oral communication skills, in English.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Powerpoint, for data analysis and presentation.
• Ability to work as an independent researcher with a high level judgment and initiative.
• Proven written communication skills as lead or co-author of technical papers, reports, and refereed journal articles.
• Demonstrated familiarity with equipment efficiency standards, as they related to household appliances is preferred.

Notes
This is a full-time, one year appointment with the possibility of renewal based upon performance and continuation of funding. This position will be open until filled.
