This position will be in the Innovation Management division within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Transmission Distribution Business Unit (TDBU). The successful candidate will support the management and oversight of the communication functions associated with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) projects.

Typical responsibilities will include:

•Supporting the creation and implementation of project communication plans and stakeholder analysis.
•Supporting the development of the Irvine Smart Grid Demonstration Center to provide stakeholders with a comprehensive overview of Smart Grid and its components.
•Assisting with analysis and recommendations on communication vehicles and products for internal and external audiences, as well as the development of communication materials.
•Coordinating, collaborating, and interfacing with internal departments and external media groups to implement communication strategies.
•Representing the Company to various external organizations, including but not limited to universities, customer advocacy groups, vendors, other utilities, and various governmental agencies.
•Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
•Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification:

•Must have at least three years of experience in analyzing or supporting communications projects.

Job Requirements:

•A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
•Typically possesses three or more years of experience in analyzing or supporting communications projects.
•Demonstrated experience supporting the development of graphic design and digital communication strategies targeted at community organizations, internal/external customers, academic institutions, and/or industry organizations.
•Demonstrated experience developing communication materials for internal and external audiences (e.g., other departments, media groups).
•Demonstrated experience identifying internal and external stakeholders, determining project information needs, and defining a communications approach to the various stakeholders.
•Demonstrated experience tracking and monitoring project data (e.g., status, costs, schedule).
•Demonstrated experience representing the Company to external organizations (e.g., universities, customer advocacy groups, vendors, governmental agencies).
•Demonstrated experience identifying and providing recommendations on process improvements.
•Demonstrated experience using office productivity tools to create and edit reports, graphs, or presentations, convert information from one format to another, and generate non-standard reports.
•Demonstrated experience developing presentations of project analysis for technical and non-technical audiences.
•Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project.
•Demonstrated ability to use Adobe Illustrator.
•Demonstrated ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
•Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
•Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
•Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
