Job Description: World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the worlds leading conservation organization, seeks a Program Officer for Forests. The Program Officer works under the supervision of the Managing Director and as part of the WWF-US Forests team, supporting the Global Forest & Trade Network-North America (GFTN-NA) project and other related Forests initiatives. Functions include managing or assisting with selected company relationships focused on responsible wood and paper sourcing; synthesizing relevant forest product, species, sector and company data; supporting WWF engagement with US government on relevant forest policy issues; researching and drafting comments on forest certification standards and policies; producing communications materials and reports; drafting funding proposals; organizing events; representing WWF at relevant internal and external forums; and completing other tasks as defined by the Managing Director.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
1.Relationship Management. Manages or assists in management of relationships with North American companies to secure and maintain their commitment to responsible sourcing of forest products. Reviews and provides technical assistance to GFTN-NA company participants on forest product purchasing policies, baseline assessments, country/species sourcing risks, action plans, target-setting, and progress reports. Assists with outreach to other North American forest product buyers about responsible wood and paper sourcing.
2.Research and Data Management. Monitors and analyzes information relevant to global forestry issues, forest-related policies, and forest certification. Collects and synthesizes data on US trade of forest products, with a focus on products and species linked to WWF Priority Places. Manages data on GFTN-NA company participants and progress.
3.Advocacy. Supports WWFs engagement as a member of the Forest Stewardship Council, the US Green Building Council, and High Conservation Value Resource Network. Reviews and prepares comments on standards and policies. Supports WWF-US engagement of US Government on forest trade related policy. Keeps relevant WWF staff apprised of certification and USG-related policy developments. Solicits, coordinates, and synthesizes input from WWF staff to inform WWF-USs position on policies and standards.
4.Communications. Produces or assists with production of Forests communications materials, including articles, brochures, website updates, and PowerPoint presentations. Maintains updated Forests program contacts list. Responds to general information requests from internal and external sources.
5.Reporting. Summarizes data on Forests program activities into reports for internal and external audiences.
6.Events and Meetings. Organizes meetings, workshops and special events. Represents WWF-US at workshops, stakeholder meetings and conferences on issues of relevance to the Forests program.
7.Fundraising, Grants and Contracts. Assists with research and proposal-writing. Drafts and manages selected contracts and grants.
8.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
1.A Bachelors degree plus five years experience, OR a graduate degree and two years of experience is required.
Bachelors or Masters should be in relevant fields of study such as: forestry, natural resources management, supply chain management, forest products procurement, environmental science, conservation policy, international development or a related field.
Work experience is required in one or more of the following: forest products trade and related environmental, social and economic issues, forest management, forest certification, forest policy, supply chain management, forest product procurement, corporate environmental responsibility, biodiversity conservation, environmental management, international conservation.
2.Demonstrated knowledge of global forestry issues and forest product sectors.
3.Demonstrated ability to effectively accomplish projects independently and as a team member.
4.Strong time management and organizational skills 5.Ability to prioritize and complete multiple activities with minimal supervision.
6.Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to tailor written and verbal communications to many different audiences.
7.Ability to quickly research and synthesize complex issues in a compelling way.
8.Demonstrated competence with word processing (MSWord), MS PowerPoint, spreadsheet construction (MSExcel), database management, web-based research.
9.Fluency in written and spoken English required.

Role Description

Role Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• PHR/SPHR is a plus.

• Experience placing candidates in a variety of positions including technical, senior-level, and hard to fill positions which required sourcing and outside-the-box recruitment strategy is required.
• Strong business acumen and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS system.
• Must have knowledge of and experience advising on and ensuring adherence to HR related laws and policies.
• Proven ability to work in diverse and matrixed organizations is required.

Ecova is seeking to fill a Research Document Management Coordinator (Temporary) position in the Durango, Colorado office, or Portland, Oregon office. As a Research Document Management Coordinator, you will work on cutting-edge research and policy topics at the intersection of energy and environmental issues. You will be able to develop close relationships with colleagues while shaping today’s energy policy and your own future. As a member of the Research and Policy team, you will experience having a decisive impact on government policies and corporate actors in the energy-efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability fields.

Role Description
• Work with Ecova experts to determine the needs and information-seeking behavior of R&P, a small team (<20) of engineers, scientists, and energy policy experts.
• Work with Ecova experts to design, develop, implement and maintain an integrated Knowledge Management System for R&P data, documents, presentations and reference materials that is indexed and searchable.
• Lead, with support from experts, the implementation of the Knowledge Management System.
• Work with Ecova experts to design, develop and implement an organized and consistent system for working (draft) documents.
• Manage the R&P reference collection, including digital and physical resources (if in Durango) and subscriptions
• Interact with the broader organization to facilitate the transfer of research findings.
• Possibly participate in direct research activities including literature search, market and data analysis, report writing.
• Perform related work as required.

Role Competencies
• Require bachelor’s degree required and demonstrated experience organizing or program managing an activity in support of a team.
• Prefer Bachelor's or Master’s degree in library science, knowledge management, or related area of specialty or technical degree with five years experience.
• Prefer SharePoint Super User experience.
• Prefer Library collection development experience.
• Prefer background in energy efficiency, environmental studies, or other relevant scientific experience.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to interact successfully with expert stakeholders.
• High comfort levels with computers and the demonstrated ability to quickly learn how to use software applications like SharePoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to train and educate colleagues.
• Capable of taking initiative and enthusiastically leading this organization in the implementation of the Knowledge Management System with the support of experts.
• Able to work independently and think creatively.
• Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Desire to work in the field of energy efficiency.
• Educational background in Library or Information Science preferred but not required.
