Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President for Facility Services, this position is responsible for strategic development and operational management of the university Office of Sustainability. The Office of Sustainability is charged with the responsibility to catalyze, coordinate and implement campus sustainability initiatives; coordinate and mentor student sustainability activities and operations; and carry out the President’s Climate Commitment for carbon neutrality via the University’s Climate Action Plan and Campus Sustainability Plan. This responsibility includes taking the primary lead in reporting the campus progress using the AASHE Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating Systemâ„¢ (STARS).

The Office of Sustainability works collaboratively with local, national and international partners to develop sound initiatives that support the university’s sustainability mission to improve the social, ecological and economic vitality of our communities. This position represents the Office of Sustainability and the Facility Services department on several university, community and regional committees.

The Office of Sustainability Manager also works closely with the other Facility Services department leaders including: the Director of Utility Services and Facilities Sustainability, the Director of Facility Operations, the Director of Planning Design and Construction, the Director of Facility Engineering and Inspection Services, and the Director of Facility Services Administration.

Minimum Qualifications

- Responsible for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of the delivery of program operations, which includes billing, accounting, data analysis and reporting, application support, client relationship management, technical support, administration or incentive processing.

Responsible for providing field support to Efficiency programs.

Role Description

• Primarily supports PPL Residential Retail Program performing advanced power strip (APS) installations.
• Installations will involve discussing the APS installation, presenting information about other PPL energy efficiency programs, and generally communicating to the client in a detailed and professional manner.
• Assist client through program incentive qualification by managing paperwork flow, verifying accuracy of incentive amounts, and submission of project documents for approval and payment.
• Represent PPL and their programs to residential customers of PPL EU.
• Ensure program documents are accurate and up to date.
• Serve as the representative for ecova and our clients at outreach events. Educate customers at events about the energy efficiency program(s).
• Assist in meeting/event planning and organization for program events.

Role Competencies

The Professional Services Manager will manage a team of 7-9 technical and business staff and reports to the Director of Professional Services, Regional IS. - Work closely with regions and other central services to address business obstacles internally and externally.
- Provide metric reports to management on key objectives, including compliance on SLA's.
- Support project initiatives, including: Budget considerations, time and resource estimates, defining the project scope and objectives, risk assessments, etc.
- Establish and foster positive working relationships with internal program staff, clients, and other business partners.
- Provide IT presence in client meetings as needed.
- Assist the Director of Regional IS with responses to RFPs and RFIs as needed, focusing on excellence in Statement of Work definition and estimation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in business, software engineering, computer science or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of staff or project management experience in an IT department.

Rides Director

The Cascade Bicycle Club is a 15,000+ member nonprofit organization, dedicated to creating better communities through bicycling, based in Seattle, Washington. Cascade offers riding opportunities for all, advocates for bicycle policy and infrastructure, educates a diverse group of people who ride bikes, and produces world-class cycling events. Cascade produces 13 major bicycle events and offers 1,600 daily recreational rides annually. Cascade is directed by an elected volunteer board and operates with 34 paid staff and thousands of volunteers.

Position Summary

In partnership with Cascade’s volunteer rides committee, the rides director oversees, manages and promotes Cascade Bicycle Club’s rides program, including daily rides, tours, training series, and other rides. This position provides leadership and management to the rides program to meet its expansion and diversification objectives and to support the strategic objectives of the club. The rides director co-chairs Cascade’s rides committee which is responsible for the strategic direction and annual work plans of the rides program and provides direction and support to a volunteer group of over 200 dedicated ride leaders. The rides director is a member of Cascade’s leadership team and reports to the executive director.

Key Responsibilities

Outreach & Programming

• Identify and develop new fun and exciting ride opportunities for cyclists of all types.
• Lead Cascade through a strategic analysis of partnership opportunities with other clubs, related businesses, and rides to encourage growth of cycling in the area.
• Develop and maintain relationships with organizations, community groups, businesses, and others to promote, expand, diversify, and support the rides program.
• In cooperation with others on the Cascade team, oversee the development and execution of a marketing plan to expand the number and diversity of riders participating in Cascade events and rides
• Identify opportunities to collaborate with other Cascade programs such as events, education, and advocacy to advance the mission of the club.
• Help build, implement, and manage an effective system for the recruitment and involvement of volunteers as ride leaders.
• In conjunction with the tours committee, plan and manage Cascade’s tours program.
• Actively engage in daily rides including participating in and leading rides to ensure a close connection with both the ride leader and rider community. Ride participation and ride leader activity are part of the rides director’s formal duties.

Management

• Supervise the club’s rides program coordinator, contractors, and consultants to ensure rides, tours, and training are effectively executed.
• Develop annual rides program plans and budgets in conjunction with the rides committee.
• Partner with club staff to establish systems that support the smooth operation and tracking of the rides program including technology, communications, administration, etc.
• Partner with the rides committee to provide advice and strategic direction including evaluating program effectiveness, ensuring continuous improvement, and monitoring member satisfaction.
• Ensure a robust calendar of daily rides that appeal to a wide range of riders and that expand the geographical reach of the club.

Skills and Experience Required

• Proven management experience with strategic long-term planning skills to chart a path and lead an organization through transition and growth
• Skilled cyclist with the ability and desire to participate in and lead daily rides at a variety of paces, difficulties, and distances.
• Experience working with and inspiring volunteers desired.
• Proven project management and marketing experience desired.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as in teams.

Position Summary:
Working in the Catskill/Hudson NY area, the ideal candidate will work part-time and be responsible for complete and accurate quality control or quality assurance inspections to verify the completion of work orders in accordance with program energy efficiency standards and client requirements.

Conducts standard inspections to verify that the energy efficiency measures or equipment have been installed to program quality standards. May perform some diagnostic testing including blower door and combustion safety testing.
Document findings. If problem or discrepancy is found, document with digital photos. Track and enter all required program data in an accurate and timely manner. Provides proper and timely reporting of program progress
Stays current on latest Program initiatives, policies, procedures, etc. and proposing ideas for improvement. Develops advanced technical knowledge in energy efficiency and building science.

Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 5-7 years experience in residential construction, HVAC, building diagnostics, air infiltration reduction and sidewall and attic insulation
- BPI certification (Building Analyst, Envelope and Heating) preferred
- Strong customer service and client relationship management skills and enthusiasm for energy conservation. Ability to effectively communicate technical and program concepts to contractors, consumers, and other interested people or organizations. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Computer proficiency, experience with Windows-based office applications required. Familiarity with computerized energy modeling software a plus.
- Local or regional travel required on a daily basis. May require overnight travel. Flexibility in schedule required.
