Improving the energy performance of existing homes and businesses is an increasing focus of state and federal policy, and is the basis for several new regional, state and national programs. CCSE is implementing several of these programs with the goal of directly assisting this market to scale up quickly and sustainably. Success of these programs will require consumer demand for home energy upgrades and clarity in the marketplace about building science, energy efficiency and what programs offer what benefits.

Responsibilities will include strategic planning and management of marketing execution for a variety of energy efficiency programs, primarily focused on residential energy upgrades. This will include development and distribution of online and print marketing and communications materials in support of the Energy Upgrade California brand; leveraging market research and customer segmentation for targeted outreach; managing social and earned media strategies; working with contractors, SDG&E and other community stakeholders to support coordinated marketing efforts throughout the region. The right candidate will bring an evangelical desire to improve how San Diegans live in their homes and be a curious, creative, strategic and ambitious big-picture thinker with strong marketing experience and excellent attention to detail and follow through.

•Strong understanding of and demonstrated success with cost-effective marketing techniques and best practices
•Data driven marketing approach: success in this position will require developing strategies based on best practices and testing various message and tactics
•Direct experience with various social and direct marketing tactics including database marketing, email marketing, face-to-face outreach, direct mail and online.
• Outstanding communication skills with the proven ability to utilize these skills across groups
•Advanced marketing competencies in consumer insights, concept development, communication, email, social media, market research and project management.
•Excellent project management and budgeting experience; attention to detail and timely execution of tasks are critical.
•Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to assume responsibility, to prioritize and resolve problems, to work under pressure in a fast paced work atmosphere and to coordinate and manage complex projects.
•Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal; public speaking and presentation experience a must.
•Ability to manage multiple parallel projects and lead cross functional teams
•Ability to work cooperatively with decision makers as well as a diverse array of market participants with differing views.

•Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline from a four-year college or university.
•A minimum of five years experience marketing services, programs or products
•A proven track record in building brands and launching new products or programs.
